    EUFEPS Annual Meeting, Istanbul, June 13-15, 2016 (Monday, 13 June 2016 08:42)

EUFEPS Annual Meeting, Istanbul, June 13-15, 2016

The EUFEPS Annual Meeting 2016 will be organized in Istanbul on June 13-15, 2016 at The Mrmara Hotel. The theme of the EUFEPS 2016 meeting is “Clinical Outcome and Regulatory Approaches for Advanced Drug Delivery Products”. As the pharmaceutical world is moving towards more specialized treatments and safer and more efficient administration of existing therapeutic molecules, advanced drug delivery techniques such as non-biological complex drugs (NBCDS), biologics/biotech products, inhaler systems, combination products and modified release products are gaining importance in this current “post blockbuster drug era”. Rapid developments in biosimilar and nano similar products also underline the growing need for harmonization and drawing of clear regulatory paths for these innovative systems and their follow-on products. Personalized medicine and treatments based on pharmacogenomic-pharmacogenetic approaches can be a beacon in increasing the efficacy and safety of innovative treatment while manufacturing and upscaling issues and new biomaterials and techniques need to be explored to render optimum quality attributes to advanced technology pharmaceuticals.

With this in mind, we have put together a 3-day programme with contributions from EUFEPS Networks Bioavailability/Biopharmaceutics, Nanomedicine, Systems Pharmacology, QbD-PAT, Regulatory Sciences and Pharmacogenomics/Pharmacogenetics. The meeting will take place in the heart of Istanbul at The Marmara Hotel situated at the famous Taksim Square where you can enjoy both this scientific programme and the rich cultural and historical beauties of Istanbul. EUFEPS will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2016 and we will be more than happy to welcome you at the Gala Dinner dedicated to this silver anniversary of EUFEPS.

Please check our website www.eufepsannualmeeting.org at for updated information on the meeting and feel free to contact me and my colleagues for any further information. Hoping to see you in Istanbul on June 2016.

Consensus Meeting Therapeutic Drug monitoring of Everolimus (Thursday, 19 June 2014 12:38)

    Dear Colleagues,

We are approaching you on behalf of the Immunosuppressive Drugs (ISD) Scientific Committee of the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (IATDMCT). IATDMCT is an association to foster and promote education and research in therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical toxicology, as well as to improve the standards of practice and clinical interpretation in these fields.

One of the aims of the ISD Committee is to provide evidence-based recommendations for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) of immunosuppressive agents. Over the last few years such documents on TDM of cyclosporine A, tacrolimus, and mycophenolic acid have been developed. So far, no guidelines for TDM of everolimus are available and the ISD committee of IATDMCT is currently working on such a document.

A one day meeting dedicated to this topic will held on September 11, 2014 in Stuttgart, Germany in cooperation between IATDMCT and Klinikum Stuttgart. The aim of this meeting is to address the evidence and provide recommendations for optimal use of TDM of everolimus in clinical practice, considering drug characteristics, specific clinical situations, and methodological issues. For this purpose a broad input and support from as many experts as possible in the field would be highly appreciated. Therefore, we are particularly keen to see members of your association join us for a fruitful interdisciplinary discussion. Please note the attached program.

CME credit points are applied for at the Medical Chamber of Baden-Württemberg. Participation is free of charge.
